PBA UPDATE-PETRON WINS THROUGH BUZZER BEATER

The Petron Blaze Boosters have won an unexpected win against the Talk N Text Tropang Texters. The Petron Boosters were considered as underdogs on the whole series and have one foot to the Finals as they are having the height and size disadvantages.

Their chances have been gone down when their Center Rabeh Al-Hussaini was caught in an injury on their game against B-meg.Rabeh Al-Hussaini fell on the ground while he was going against Marc Pingris in the 2nd quarter and was down grimacing the pain. Some of his teammates helped him got up and he was brought to the locker room. He didn't went back into the game but thankfully his team won 97-92 and have climbed up near the finals spot. He is not going to play for six months to completely recover from his injury. Four of the players on their rooster have been down with injuries this conference.

Their roster have been depleted but even though with this circumstances the Petron managed to steal the first win against the Series against Talk N text making them lead at 1-0.

“May chance kami pumasok sa Finals. We’ll see what happens in the other game", stated by coach of Petron Ato Agustin.

Their Import Anthony Grundy and Arwind Santos both recorded double-doubles as Petron fought against the Tropang Texters even with a depleted roster and without the other key players Anthony Washington, Joseph Yeo, Lordy Tugade, and the rookie Big Man Rabeh Al-Hussaini.

Danny Ildefonso have just reminded everyone about his rich experiences on championships. Ildefonso turned a steal into a fast break layup and, followed the goal stabbed by Ryan Reyes , scored a high arch baseline jumper that made the conference closed with a 1-0 standing for Petron against Talk N Text.

“God na nag-shoot noon”, as said by 34year old veteran Danny Ildefonso of his game-winner, he was first on the league 16 years ago and have been with the formerly known San Miguel Beermen which have won seven titles with his career that started in 1998.

“Nagamit niya ang kanyang experience,” stated by Petron coach Ato Agustin of Ildefonso. “He was
our leader inside the court at ipinakita niya iyon.”

The Loss was a bitter experience for the Tropang Texters because they have lead the second quarter at most score at 85-76 going to the last 3:10 of the game.

The Game 2 will be held at Mindanao Civic Center in Tubod, Lanao Del Norte.

“Underdog pa rin, kasi undermanned kami,” said Coach Ato Agustin. “Pero I think nakatulong kasi lahat
nag-step up.”

“Almost everybody in-expect na 4-0 ang Talk N Text at parang pinagbigyan kami,” he added. “I
hope they will continue na pagbigyan kami.”

Jimmy Alapag have scored 18 points and 7 assist to lead Talk N Text, which has not lost which has not lost any of the back-to-back games since the Games 3 and Game 4 at the season Opening of The Philippine Cup Finals to the same Petron Team.

Talk N Text's import Scottie Reynolds was down to only 4 points too low for his average of 21.4 points per game while his counterpart Anthony Grundy of the Petron Boosters finished the game with 17 points, 13 rebounds, 5 steals and 12 assist and the last one which lead the ball to Danny Ildefonso for the Buzzer Beater Win.

The biggest stop of the game for Petron was when Arwind Santos double teamed with Danny Ildefonso on Larry Fonacier which led to the Ildefonso's fastbreak Layup which give them the lead at 87-86 at 17 seconds left.
